Delete your FIRL account

In the app (recommended)

Open FIRL and go to Settings, then delete your account. Deletion is immediate and complete: it removes your account and sign-in records, your email from our index, your friend code, undelivered updates addressed to you, and your encrypted profile-picture files from our servers. The app also removes the calendar entries it created and — where reachable — the backups in your own iCloud or Google Drive, then wipes its local data.

What deletion cannot reach is described in the Privacy Policy (section 16): content you already sent to friends is stored on their devices, like a letter you have mailed.

Without the app

If you no longer have access to the device or the app, you can request deletion of your account and its associated data by emailing [email protected] from the email address you signed in with. We verify the request against that address and then delete the same set of data as an in-app deletion.

What we keep

Nothing that identifies you. A contentless deletion marker lets your friends' apps detect that your account is gone, and hashed email-bounce markers (which cannot be turned back into an address) prevent us from emailing dead addresses. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
